The World Youth Festival (WYF), which runs until March 7, is already in its second day. On March 4, the participating nations are expected to march together.
Twenty thousand young leaders, representing 190 nations, are present at the event, including 10,000 international leaders. Their backgrounds span a variety of fields, including sports, journalism, science, business, volunteering, charitable work, education, culture, and more.
It came out that the nations of Central Asia were among the top in terms of WYF participation. There are 225 youth from Kazakhstan, 231 from Kyrgyzstan, 275 from Tajikistan, and over 200 from Uzbekistan. However, just 17 Turkmens participate in the festival.
There are also participants from far away: roughly 100 individuals will represent Argentina, 95 young people will go from Bangladesh, 100 people will represent the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and 360 people arrived from India.
The festival’s schedule consists of master courses, panel discussions, training workshops, and creative group performances. A race, exhibitions, film screenings, and a fair featuring the creations of up-and-coming artists and masters are all planned.
Some troubles
Many international nationals attend the World Youth Festival. Even though some people had trouble getting there, they managed to make it to the event.
Before the festival’s opening ceremony, visitors told reporters, “The guys didn’t just come, many came despite the difficulties they encountered.”
Experts claim that ten thousand foreign delegates convened at the location. Young people battled for the opportunity to attend; according to them, 320 thousand applications were received. There were 50,000 applications for the 2017 edition of this event.

“Today you are actually diplomats of the world, envoys of the world, because being here and now at the World Youth Festival, you will become bearers of unique invaluable information”, – said the speaker.
